I love this site!
And I would never dream of closing it. It’s my baby. I know that BDK has not been updated in a few months however it is not that I have lost interest, or cannot be bothered, or have moved on or whatever reasons you may think. It is just that within my actual life the real me Alexia aka QueenBD I have come to a personal crossroads. I have just finished university, Im still riding off my birthday wave, I am deciding my route, I am going crazy day to day not sure whether I want to continue events planning, be a writer or a TV presenter. I am madly in love, I am creating my own success and ontop of it all I’m having a blast! Day by day I’m trying learning to become a better person, woman, friend, daughter, listener and all. I’m constantly growing, learning and damn just enjoying life. I have lows just as well as highs and sometimes life can be a b*tch, yet behind it all I still try to remain a BabyDoll 
.
Of course I would love to share this all with you, but yet still have doubts and do not believe I should turn this site into a 100% personal blog . Although this is my site and my space on this web estate to say whatever the hell I want, that is not why I created the site. When I broke up with an ex a long while back. He was a right waste and was undeserving of my love. I knew that I did not think I was too nice (his words not mine) just because I was brought up like a lady with certain beliefs and values. Well long story short and on a lighter note it is 2009 and times have change since our parents days lol so I create this site for the Urban IT Girl & Fashionista who was doing things with her life. Only expected the best, wanted the best and put in the best to/from life. It was for those striving for more and those that was busy so needed a one stop for the Fashion, Beauty, Life and Advice info on one site. Sometimes life’s just so fast and before you know it a few days has melted, then a week then oh shoot…. there it goes.
I actually have no idea why I’m posting this post, I’m not closing the site or anything like that but just felt like I owed it to you, I check my mail everyday and the site info and you guys keep visiting religiously so this was just to let you no im still here, where im at and whats going on with your girl. I have not updated in a while but im still here! So stop blowing up my box lol, leave a comment or get at me on twitter. Continue to keep checking back!

Do You Need A Time Out?

Hello’haBabyDolls and how have we been just lately. As you all know I have been on hiatus, but believe me it was muchneeded. This year has been one roller coaster, from bereavements to happiness, old chapters and new beginnings it has been a learning year for sure. I am currently in my last year of university, work part time, and also have many side projects so as you can understand sometimes a BabyDoll just feels like calling ‘Time Out’
What we have to remember is we are beautiful living beings that should be cared for. We are not computerised so go easy on yourselves. I live my life and you live yours. BabyDolls no one knows what you go through and what you can manage so if you feel like its needed, just like in basketball call ‘Time Out.’
These past few weeks have been Amazing! I have engulfed myself in family and friends, laughter and joy. I feel re-energised and refreshed, and why? Because I took time out. I said no, I have been doing me. Being the person I am, I am always quick to help and find my time is more consumed with doing favours for others than myself, now I have no problem with this as I feel part of the reason I was put on this world to help others, however these last weeks I have taken time out to just enjoy.
There is no one higher than you but God you are not gonna get told off for messing up your ownroutine and just doing what ever the hell it is that you want to do. Know one controls you, so remember that! I feel like I have been on holiday and I haven’t been anywhere lol. So BabyDolls do this for me, scratch that do this for yourselves!:
- Put your feet up
- Call an old friend
- Laugh for no reason
- Get dressed and go for cocktails with your girls even if it is a Tuesday
- Go for a manicure and don’t get french tips! Get a patterned style let your wild side out
- Make a cake and don’t feel guilty eating it
- Blast your favourite song and the highest decimal
…..now tell me you don’t feel a little better

Its That Time Of Year Again!

Yep! That’s right BabyDolls November already *sigh* so come on tell me, who’s really ready for Christmas?? Be truthful you know it happens eeeevery year, you get to mid October and realise that Christmas is in foresight and then start talking about how good your going to be this year. “Oh yes, ill start Christmas shopping early and have it out the way by mid November” but then what happens? You forget all about it until Christmas Eve and probably end up being one of the people I scrabble with in Debenhams over the last discounted cashmere shawl for my gran……even though I always end up leaving with the item. (So word of warning ladies don’t even try it this year, this BabyDoll is a B**** on Christmas Eve 
)
Yes I confess last year I was one of those who still had a long list of items to get on Christmas eve, just like many others. You put it down to loving the Christmas buzz but really you just procrastinated and lost track of the days. However this year things will be different! For those that have already started, congratulations I applaud you. For those that haven’t not to worry, we will do it together. Relax QueenB.D has got it under control. Over the next few weeks ill be giving you amazing gift ideas for your love ones….and treats for yourself also. I have decided to do a seasonal BDK Christmas SOS edition of posts to guide us through this madness together. D.Woods M.I.A? Or At The MOBOs

Well while D.Woods was M.I.A for the finale of Making The Band, after being dropped from Danity Kane. It could have been because she was making her way over here. I spotted her live and direct at the MOBO awards this evening. Looks like Ms Woods is already focusing on her own career as she couldn’t stop plugging it enough. When presenting an award Ms Woods said
“Hopefully ill be performing on this stage next year”
and was plugging even more backstage. She smoothly dodged Danity Kane Q’s when asked about the future of DK and brought them back around to herself mentioning the future of D.Woods talking about her song writing and film projects. I like D.Woods so while I wont diss, I will say she was looking spectacular in her Black and White razor back dress and I wish her the best of luck in future. Stay tuned.

I absolutely love this girl. Jazmine Sullivan has been behind the scenes for quite a while as a singer songwriter and now she is coming to the forefront. With singles such as Need You Bad ft Missy. Miss Jazmine has been compared to the likes of Lauren Hill. Her voice is amazing and pure and I am loving her debut album Fearless. I have had it on rotation for the last week or so and it is definitely one to cop. This girl has talent and is definitely one to watch. Well, who doesn’t like an after work cocktail? Trust me, if you like Bananas then this one is devine. Its called a Banana Boomer.
Smackalicious ingredients needed:
- 1 Part De Kuyper Crème de Bananes*
- 1/2 Part De Kuyper Cherry Brandy*
- 1/2 Part De Kuyper Apricot Brandy
- 1 Part Pineapple Juice
- 1 Part Orange Juice
BabyDolls this one is very simple and easy just shake all ingredients together with ice in a shaker then pour into a martini glass and enjoy
*1 Part = 1 Shot

Miss E.V.E was spotted last week rocking her new do’ I love Eve I like the way she always switches up her style I’m glad she decided to loose the braids she was rocking last month this look is much better. Its fresh and its edgy. I am not too sure if I would give it a 10 out of 10 but I will give points for the creativity.
Whats Your Scent?

Isn’t there just something about a scent that can attract or detract you from someone or something? I have a thing about scents, I love the importance they hold as certain scents bring you back to particular times and people. As you know every BabyDoll should always be smelling Smackalicious. Remember when applying perfume always dab on pulse points ( behind ear, on wrists and on your neck.) Just in case you did not know, The reason for this is supposedly every time your heart beats and your pulse points pump the fragrance will be slowly emitted throughout the day 
So are you a BabyDoll or Guy that likes to switch up the scents? Or are you loyal to your scent, someone who has used the same for years so every time love one’s smell that fragrance they think of you? I love to swap and change and my current fragrance of choice is above Cartier Delices de Cartier. I was given a sample then fell in love. It is powerful yet Devine with hints of morello cherry, jasmine, orange blossom, white peach and amber. Simply Amazing!

- Perfume, also called extract can include 15-40% perfume concentrates. This is the very strong and purest form of scented product and often the most expensive.
- Eau de parfum contains about 7-15% perfume concentrates. This is the most popular and common form of perfume. It provides a long-lasting fragrance and generally more reasonable in price.
